SOI Cemetery Association dedicates neighborhood park, May 6, 2001
 
The new fence runs across the property from the point where you see the gray building begin. Park benches are in the foregroud.  The Jule Himelfarb plaque will rest on the boulder (above left.)  The Anne Marder Garden appears above right.

The East Washington Street side of the Old Jewish Cemetery is now a neighborhood park, complete with landscaping, benches and a commemorative plaque.  The Pennsylvania Historical Marker has been located on the site.The front gates are to remain open forever.  There is now a new fence in place that separates the burial grounds from the park, approximately 75 feet from the sidewalk.  Contractors from the neighborhod will maintain the grounds for all to enjoy.
