The K.L.A.S. (Kids Learning After School) program serves Chambersburg Borough children and their families. It is a 21st Century Community Learning Center. It is part of the Chambersburg Area School District, serving children in grades 1-5 at Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School. K.L.A.S. operates on all school days, Monday through Friday from 3:45 until 6:00 PM during the school year. Program content includes academic assistance (tutoring, homework help, and mentoring), personal and cultural enrichment, service-learning, recreation and a nutritious snack every day of program.  Summer camp begins June 21, M-Th at Stevens for six weeks.  Look straight below at ANNOUNCEMENTS for more.

Field trips, swimming (2x /week) athletics,       tutoring, character-building, family picnic. and   Greg Manning, our Pennsylvania Hall of Fame  basketball star conducting a special 3-day program.

We Were Small, But Irresistible

It was already dark at 6:30 PM on a cold and rainy February day in 2005. It was the second week of our initial after-school program. We had endured almost a year of delays and broken promises that often made it seem as if we’d never get started. But we had made a modest beginning at the local recreation center with 18 students, no classrooms, and no school buses. But we had some wonderful and dedicated teachers.
